Jen Menchaca's rise to fashion designer is a somewhat unlikely story. In fact, her father always wanted her to follow in his footsteps and become an engineer for NASA, although Jen wasn't exactly feelin' the whole spacesuit thing. After earning a B.S. in Advertising from U.T., she moved to NYC and landed a job as a cocktail waitress. A few years later, Jen relocated to Los Angeles, where she found herself working for David E. Kelly productions on the off-beat dramedy, Ally McBeal.
Always a fan of her father's white V-necks, Jen was inspired to create her own version fo the perfect, worn in men's inspired t-shirt. This quickly became a side business for Jen. She juggled both careers for some time, but before long Nation Ltd. grew to become her full-time business. With so many celeb fans of the brand, it'd probably be easier to name who hasn't been spotted in Jen's designs, rather than who has. What began as a love for her Dad's old t-shirts, blossomed into quite a cult following. Jen didn't exactly follow in her Dad's footsteps, something he's pretty proud of.
